There comes a point in the history of every civilization when the greatest danger facing its people is no longer the enemy they have been taught to fear, but the institutions they have been conditioned to trust.
Humanity has reached that point.
For generations, people have been encouraged to believe that the systems governing their lives, regulating their economies, administering their medicine, collecting their information, and determining the boundaries of their freedoms were fundamentally designed to protect them.
What they were never supposed to discover was that these same systems could be transformed into the infrastructure of their own destruction.
And that transformation has already taken place.
