CONFIRMED — CHINA JUST REVERSED DIABETES IN HUMANS. AND THE INSULIN INDUSTRY IS IN CRISIS.

While millions of people inject insulin every single day, Chinese researchers just proved something the pharmaceutical industry said was impossible.

They took blood cells from diabetic patients. Reprogrammed them into stem cells. Grew new pancreatic islets in a laboratory. And transplanted them back into the patients.

The results:

A 45-year-old man with severe type 1 diabetes stopped insulin completely. His HbA1c fell from 7.2% to 5.7%. His time in target glucose range reached 100%. He has been insulin-free for over two years.

A 25-year-old woman had no detectable insulin production before treatment. Seventy-five days after receiving islets made from her own reprogrammed cells, she stopped insulin. Her time in range exceeded 98%. Her HbA1c dropped to around 5%.

A 15-year-old girl went from spending only 25% of her time in target range to 94%. Her severe hypoglycemic episodes disappeared.

This is not one case. This is multiple patients. Multiple hospitals. Multiple approaches.

The Shanghai team cuts production time from 40 days to 14 days. The Peking University program uses the patient’s own chemically reprogrammed cells.

One patient lost her new beta-cell function when she stopped immunosuppression. Her autoimmune disease attacked the replacement cells again.
