In 2023, 30 defendants were charged and convicted in this scam, and 12 more have just been charged for selling these fraudulent nursing diplomas and transcripts.
No word on how many of these fake nurses are currently working in the US, but authorities have flagged individuals and databases for review by state nursing boards all over the country.
Many of these reviews are ongoing, while patients are still being treated ostensibly by potentially unqualified nurses.
It looks like cases are still being reviewed in states like Connecticut, Delaware, Washington, Texas, and California.”
