The soul is ripped out through the left eye/pineal portal while the body is kept alive via life-support fields. Original consciousness is immediately transferred to on-site quartz arrays. 

Replacements are installed in adjacent medical wings. Failed extractions result in bodies being dissolved in acid vats or fed into biological recyclers.
