XBOX Is Putting Monthly Time Limits On Cloud Gaming - We Pay To Play BUT On Their Allotted Time Schedule. Hmmmmm Sounds Like XBOX Wants To Take Control Over Their Loyal, Paying Customers Play Time. I've Been A Loyal Paying Of XBOX Since Way Back During The XBOX 360 Era, Matter A Fact Although I Have A Newer XBOX Gaming System I Still Have My XBOX 360 Hooked Up And Ready For Play, She's A Working Classic.
Now, Getting Back To My Current Rant. Not That I Am A Die Hard Gamer But I Think Its' Unfair To CAP Gamers Playing Time Especially When They/We Are Paying For UNLIMITED Play Time.
YES, I Understand Its' Their Company and They Can Change Their Rules At Anytime, However Why Am I Just Hearing About This Dramatic Change? If I Hadn't Bumped Into This Article I Would Not Have Known This Change Would Be Creeping Up On Me By November 1, 2026.
Again I'm Not A Hard Core Gamer So I Can Adapt Too and Absorb The BS BUT How I Received No Notice From Microsoft or Whoever Runs The XBOX Gaming Platform? I Sure As Heck Receive Their Emails Letting Me Know When My Credit Card Will Be Charged Again For Their Services, But I Haven't Yet Received A Notice About This Upcoming Change. I Also Did Not Receive Any Notice via My XBOX Gaming Consoles. Were We Supposed To Log Onto The Website To Read The Notice? Just Asking.
I Imagine Hardcore Gamers Will Be Affected The Most By This Change, Especially Those Who Earn Their Income Playing Games Online. I Guess You'd Call Them 'Professional Game Players aka Gamers.' Then You Have People Who Are Truly Addicted To Gaming Without Time Limits.
Again This Is Why I've Been Saying The Deeper We Delve Into This Era Of New Technology The More CONTROL Over Our Lives I See.' Its' Seeping In Little By Little And Before You Know It, Their CONTROL Will Have A Choke Hold Over The Entire Gaming System and How Many Minutes Per Day Gamers Are Allowed To Play Cloud Based Games.
When The Cloud Was Introduced I Knew In Time It Would Be Used To Restrict Us In Some Way, Now I See It. 1st Off Physical Software Disc Have Basically Become Obsolete.
They Want People To Convert Their Physical Gaming Disk Into The Cloud. That's Cool and All But What Happens When The Cloud Malfunctions and Physical Software Disk Are No Longer Accessible? That's How YOU Lose Control Over What Is Really YOURS.
When You Lose Access To Your Physical Back Up (Disks) That You Have In Your Possession Technically You Own NOTHING No Matter How Many Times You've Paid For Access To The Gaming Platform.
When You Hold Something Physical In Your Hands Its' YOURS. Can You Physically Hold ALL Your Games and Whatever Else You've Uploaded To The Cloud In Your Hands? Do You Still Have A Physical Copy or Back Up Of Everything You've Uploaded To The Cloud? If The Answer Is 'NO'. Well Technically, Legally You Own NOTHING, Because Its' No Longer In Your Physical Possession.
We Tried To Break All Of This Down To The Public Years Ago So People Would Be Somewhat Prepared and Have An Understanding Of How The New Technology Would Affect and Change Our Lives In Many Different Ways. Maybe Now The Public Will Pay Attention and Be More Mindful Of What They Allow The Cloud To Store For Them.
Remember Just Like Humans The Cloud Is Not Perfect It Too Can Shut Itself Off and ERASE Its' Memory and Then What Happens To Everything We've Stored In The Cloud? This Goes A lot Farther Than Cloud Game Storage.

FOOT NOTE: One Of My Favorite Games Is 'The Sims.' I Still Have All The Physical Discs Of All The Sims Games and Add Ons I Purchased Before The Cloud and The Digital Era Came In.
I Also Have My Sims Games Stored On The Cloud As Well. If The Cloud Suddenly Malfunctioned and Erased All Of My Sims Games I Have Physical Back Up Discs Of All My Sims Games That I Can Pop Into The Disc Player Of My Classic XBOX 360.
I Can Also Purchase A Small Disc Player and Upload The Games Onto My Computer and Play Them With No Problem.
This Might Help Give Yall' An Idea Of How Important It Is To Hold Onto Your Physical Belongings.
The Moral Of This FOOT NOTE Don't Be So Quick To Throw Away The Old Ways, You Might Some Day Need To Use Them Again And They'll Become Precious To You.
