In Most Peoples Minds People With Disabilities Don't Contribute To Society Because People Think We Do Not Live 'Normal' Lives Like Everyone Else. The Shear Ignorance of People To This Day Still Amazes Me.
NEWSFLASH: In Spite Of What People Think and In Spite Of What People Have Been Told People With ALL Types Of Disabilities Lead Regular 'Normal' Lives Just Like YOU. We Have Jobs, We Get Married, We Have Children, We Have Houses, Cars and Bills To Pay Just Like YOU.
People Who Are Ignorant and Narrow Minded Are The Ones Who Believe People With Disabilities Are Not An Active Part of Society. People Who Think Like That Are Still Stuck On Stupid and Those Are The Kind Of People I Do Not Want In My Life.
YES, People With Disabilities Also Work In Hollywood. They Are Actors, Screen Writers, Producers, Cameramen etc. We Do It ALL But We're Still Not Acknowledged and That's A Damn Shame.
Why Are People With Disabilities Often Times Not Acknowledged In Hollywood? Because We Don't Necessarily Fit Into The 'Perfect' Image Of Hollywood.
Our Disabilities Might Make Us Look Different Than The Non Disabled Person and Hollywood Thrives On 'Perfection' and Creating The Perfect Imagery.
I Had My Chance In Hollywood and at Some Point I Chose To Back Away Because I Saw The B.S. Early On and I Did Not Want To Be Exploited or Used Because Of My Disability.
NO, I Did Not Want To Be An Actor In Hollywood, But Somehow I Was Selected For Certain TV, Movie Parts. I Didn't Like The Vibe And When I Was Old Enough I Declined EVERYTHING They Offered.
There Are Actors With Disabilities Who Make A Name For Themselves In Hollywood Like 'Melanie Watson.' Her LIFE Was Important and What She Brought To The Big Screen Mattered, Yet No One In Hollywood Acknowledged Her Contribution. Wow, How Fucked Up Is That?
In Spite Of It All Melanie Watson Moved On And Lived Her Life To The Fullest. She Was An Advocate and She Helped A lot Of People Who Looked Beyond Her Disability and Accepted and Appreciated Her as She Was a Beautiful SOUL.
