Emergency Preparations Review— Go Bags and Supply Chain Disruptions (3 Months)

⚠️Emergency Preparations Review— Go Bags and Supply Chain Disruptions (3 Months)

🟀 GO BAG REVIEW

Go bags are obviously if you have to get out of your home and fast…

Obviously, you can’t take everything, so you need to maximize your space.

Go bags are not long-term solutions… they are short-term means to keep you and your family with necessities until you find long-term shelter.

A backpack, or a few, depending on the size of your family, can hold a lot.

LIST OF SUPPLIES IN GO BAG:

• Batteries for critical items

• Cash

• Emergency Tent(s)

• Gun(s) w/ box(s) of Ammo + Foldable Survival Rifle

• Plenty of Fire Starter sources (flint/steel, wet matches, lighters)

• Life Straws (allows you to drink dirty water safely)

• Maps of your local area and state

• Medical Supplies…

• Prescription meds (as needed)

• High Calorie foods, maybe peanuts, jar of peanut butter, flavored calorie tablets

• Solar/crank flashlights/radio

• Walkie Talkies

• Small tools, Swiss Army knife, axe, machete, etc

• waterproof bags that you can carry your essential documents with you.

• Starlink Roam (if you can afford it)

🟀 STAY at HOME PREPARATION REVIEW πŸ‘‡πŸ»πŸ‘‡πŸ»πŸ‘‡πŸ»

This is if you’re at home and the grid has gone down, there’s a long-term blackout… and it’s likely it will take weeks/months for things to get better.

One thing people should innerstand right off the bat is that if a major event occurred that affected the supply chain infrastructure, your local grocery stores would be wiped clean in a matter of days.

I would start off by saying that being in a major city, like New York, would be far more dangerous to survive than the suburbs of PA if we’re talking weeks/months.

I would recommend identifying a relative or close friend who lives in a rural or suburban area outside city limits you can go to, if facing longterm instability.

• Food and water are obviously on top of the list.

—— don’t forget your pets

—— install a water well if you don’t have one. There are plenty of videos out there here. Very inexpensive.

—— If events begin, fill your bathtub, washing machine, buckets, etc..

—— LIFE STRAW Good for 1,000 gallons

—— Plenty of cases of water

—— To flush toilets, just add water to the bowl

—— Canned or Dried, non-perishable foods are best. Consider foods with lots of calories. *BABY FOOD *PET FOOD. Canned Beans, Fruits, Meats & Fish, Soups, or Vegetables. Hot and Cold Cereals. Rice. Powdered Milk. Granola & cereal Bars

If power goes out and you know it’s not coming back anytime soon, get to eating and cooking your perishable fridge items as soon as possible. That will buy you a few days if stored right.

• Electricity and Power…

—— of course a home

Generator would be the most ideal, but not everyone can afford it.

—— Maybe a portable generator is better for your budget, that can be exclusively used for powering your refrigerator and some electronics.

—— if all else fails, make a fire pit. Have plenty of items like matches and lighters

• solar radios and solar flashlights

• COMMUNICATIONS

• First, whomever you want to stay in contact with, talk to them & formulate a plan.

- LANDLINE TELEPHONES

- HAM RADIOS

- CB RADIOS

- SATELLITE PHONES

—— HERE IS A GUIDE to innerstand the difference between LL, SAT, HAM, CB that I highly recommend you read before purchasing anything.

- LONG RANGE WALKIE TALKIES

- SOLAR CRANK RADIO, which also has a radio, flashlight, ports, etc.

• Starlink - Probably the best option

This should get you started!

Please be realistic about your bugout bags. Understand a few things before you put it together.

1) You are not going to walk off into the woods and live off the land for weeks or months.

2) Understand that you will almost certainly *drive* if you have to go somewhere. Or you're not going anywhere.

3) If you have kids or elderly in your group, then you are definitely not roughing it.

4) Most actual bugout situations involve driving somewhere else and staying in some sort of temporary housing or a hotel/motel.

5) Are you going to use your ultralight tarp, your inflatable sleeping pad, your sleeping bag, your axe, your machete, etc. in the hotel? No, you are not.

6) Clothes. Cash. Snacks. Drinks/water. Fuel. Prescription meds. Batteries/chargers for devices. THAT is where your head should be.

Avoid SHTFantasy thinking.
