The Lisa Steinberg Case Originates In NYC. As Far As I Can Remember Lisa Steinberg Was One Of The 1st Child Abuse Cases That Was Publicly Exposed and The Parents Stood Trial and Were Convicted In The Death Of Their 6 Year Old Adopted Daughter 'Lisa Elizabeth Steinberg'
I Myself Grew Up In The NYC Foster Care System And Just Like Lisa I Too Was Physically Abused By My Foster Mother. Just Like Lisa My Cries For Help Were Ignored. The Difference Between Me And Lisa Is I Made It Out ALIVE, She Didn't.
Finally Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Was Brought To The Forefront, It Was Being Exposed For EVERYONE To See and Acknowledge. The Lisa Steinberg Case Was Somewhat Of A VICTORY For Myself and Many Other Children and Adults Who Lived and or Were Trapped In Homes Filled With Domestic Violence and Child Abuse.
The Lisa Steinberg Case Was Tragic Because This Poor Baby Needed Help and No One Spoke Out For Her or Took Action In Her Behalf. Like Hundreds Of Millions Of Abuse Victims Lisa Steinberg Lived, Suffered and Died Alone In Silence. As A SURVIVOR Of Child Abuse I Can Imagine The Fear, Isolation, Anxiety This Poor Baby Went Through.
The Lisa Steinberg Case Brought Immediate Change To The Creation Of Laws Desperately Needed To Protect Children From Child Abuse & Protect Adults From Domestic Violence.
In My Home My Foster Dad Abused My Foster Mother, My Foster Mother Abused Me And I In Turn Began Taking My Anger Out On My Younger Foster Brother. I Lived In The Cycle Of Abuse.
When I Was Growing Up During The 1960's - 1970's There Were No Services or Laws Set In Place That Would SAFELY Protect Victims Of Child Abuse or Victims Of Domestic Violence.
Back Then We Were Left To Figure Shit Out On Our Own. As A Result Of The Lisa Steinberg Case I For One Was Elated When Laws Were Set In Place To Protect Victims Of Abuse.
However With The New Laws Set In Place The Situation Seemed To Go From One Extreme To The Other. In NYC During The 1980's Parents Became Terrified To Discipline Their Children For Anything.
Children As Smart As They Are Realized Their Parents Were Scared To Discipline Them For Fear Of BCW/CPS Bringing The Police In Their Home, Arresting Them and Removing ALL Children From The Home.
This Is When Children Started Becoming Abusive Towards Their Parents/Caretakers Because They Knew The Law Would Stand By Them and Protect Them.
In NYC Children/Teens/Young Adults Were Out Of Control During The 1980's - 1990's. My Friends Had Kids And I Watched How Their Kids Used The System To Control Their Parents, It Was Crazy and Horrific at The Same Time.
A Fast Rise Of Parental Abuse Hit NYC Out Of Nowhere. Every Day We'd Here In The News The Story Of Some Spoiled Child Beating The Crap Out Of Their Parent or Killing Them.
I've Seen Tons Of Videos Of Toddlers and Small Children Cussing At and Physically Attacking Their Parent Which Was Usually The Mom. Because Of The New Laws The Parents Hands Were Tied ad They Felt Helpless.
They Feared Going To Jail If Their Child Made Up Some Fake Story. They Also Feared Their Other Children Would Be Permanently Removed From The Home and They'd Lose Their Parental Rights.
It Was A Pattern Repeating Itself, The Only Difference In This Era Children Were Emotionally and Physically Abusing Their Parents and The Parents Had No Support System. Back Then There Were No Laws Set In Place To Protect Parents From Their Abusive Children.
Over The Course Of Many Decades Child Abuse & Domestic Violence Cases Run Ramped Throughout America. Since I Was A Child Nothing Has Changed. Everything Gets Swashed Around And The Problem Of Abuse Within The Home Only Got Worse.
Starting With Today Going All The Way Back To When I Was A Child The System That Was Set Up To Protect People From Violence Within Their Home Has Continuously Failed The People Miserably. The Way I Interpret The Situation Is Its' As Though The System Wass Purposely Designed To Work Against Protecting People From Experiencing Abuse Within The Home.
